TNP is located northeast of Costa Rican territory and sets a new standard for caring for Mother Earth and her amazing wild life.
TNP is internationally recognized for protecting the most important green turtles nesting beach in the Western Hemisphere.
A trip to Edisto Beach in South Carolina to participate in a Turtle walk. Humans gather on the beach in two rows to provide protection and support for turtles who walk from the ocean to the shore where they lay their eggs.
Our vision is to get a small group together and go for a weekend. Contact Alena1960@live.com.
A Turtle Walk is an extraordinary experience where humans have the opportunity to provide support for the nesting and egg-laying process of sea turtles.

The Dream: To move our family, (2 leggeds, 4 leggeds, 8 leggeds and no leggeds) to a house Savannah in March 2022.
The Reality: We very quickly found the perfect house for us, in JANUARY!! It had everything we hoped for and MORE. We thought we had beat our move-in target by half a month, but "Life Happens". Work being done on the house won't be finished until... wait for it.... March 8th - my Recovery Anniversary.
So there we were, house essentially packed up. What to do?? Pods! Yep, loaded them with most of the stuff that was packed and away it went. They stored everything and delivered it when we arrived.
We moved in ON my sobriety anniversary, March 8th - and what a day! The house is better than we had dreamed and just keeps becoming a better fit every day. Our big beautiful kitchen encourages us to cook more and eat healthier. Our big backyard is the source of much joy for all of the dogs and our pig Princess Poppy, who became an out door pig within the first week. She is great at communicating what she wants. We LOVE all the space. My office is my personal favorite but my "kids" love their amazing bathroom with the garden tub, dual sinks and so much space!
Savannah is a lovely place to live. Most people drive well and the weather is perfect for us. And an unexpected bonus, it feels much more peaceful than Decatur. When I take a bus back to the area, I can feel the increased tension as soon as I get near the city. It's hard to believe I lived in that energy and didn't notice, at least not that I was aware of.
Dream for March 2023 - Make this our "forever home".
In early 2019, I met Flow, an amazing print by Shannon Willow.
The mystical writing says:
Look Deep Dear
Your Flow is the Ocean Flow
Moon Tide Align
I immediately ordered the print and Flow arrived a couple months later, on the very day my adult children and I moved back in together. It felt like a house warming gift from Mother Earth.
Moving back in together was something we were planning to do in a couple years. It was not something we had planned in 2019. Little did we know
we were being divinely guided.
In March 2020, a global pandemic hit and we felt incredibly blessed to be together.
As the global pandemic wore on and self quarantine stretched from days and weeks into months, I felt myself
slipping into sadness.
I prayed
"God/Goddess/All-That-Is, help me."
Little did I know that help would come in the form of Flow t-shirts. As soon as I heard they were going to be available, I knew I had to spread Flow as far and wide as possible.
The Turtle Movement was on!
Over the next few weeks, I was inspired to order shirts for seemingly random people. People I saw regularly on my Recovery Zoom calls,
people I hadn't seen in over a year,
new friends, old friends
and my children.
I felt called to add some fun goodies
to the Flow shirts - beads, bags and little stuffed turtles joined the party.
I was at the hospital dealing with an issue and I offered the woman working with me an extra turtle I had in my book bag.
Her face lit up. I said, "It's just..."
"A little bit of Joy!" She said finishing my thought. Yep, Flow is a "little bit of Joy"
Flow was officially on the move.
And so was the sadness that had
been creeping in!
I was "over the moon" excited the day I went to the post office to send Flow.
She went to five states!
My company even provided financing in the form of an unexpected bonus!
With Flow on the move, I felt like there was still something missing.
What would sustain a fellowship that could come together to nurture Turtleness and make it to grow??
That's when it hit me! A web site complete. with input from the "We".
We would have a blog where we could share our thoughts about what's going on in writing, host a virtual Talking Turtle Tea to talk about whatever is on our minds and be a resource to
communities in need.*
Now the vision felt complete. The final piece was in place, or so I thought....
then it got personal.
*This part of the dream also came true. We provide a resource for neurodiverse recovery groups and for a group working to keep the Lakota language alive!
In my old place, I had a bathroom that I adored but when I moved in with my adult children, my new bathroom was small and plain. I found I actually missed my old bathroom, silly I know.
Until the day the Turtle Lights arrived! Turtle Lights made my bathroom
feel magical again.

2 years later, Turtle Magic struck again in the form of a wonderful story about Ungalli from the book Eating in the Light of the Moon. 3 of us meet to discuss the book and do exercises from the book so here I am with a hand drawn picture with 3 little turtles.
On my laptop, I have one of the turtle stickers along with some inspirational writing from the same book.
